Sometimes all we need is time to ourselves. Learning to be alone is an important aspect of life, and can be valuable in helping you see your own life and situation from a clear perspective. I think in society today, being alone is viewed as a bad thing, and something that isn't natural. That spending time with yourself means in some way that you are "crazy", or depressed, or anti-social - when in actual fact, being with yourself can give your mind the time it needs to reflect, and relax.
I have spent just about the entire weekend on my own - besides the odd interactions with my incredibly social housemates, and the checkout chick from Coles. I've spent my time cooking, going to the gym, watching Netflix, going for walks, grocery shopping, planning more of my Europe trip - and after a mental few weeks of constant travel to and from Sydney, and interaction at work and home - I have found that spending time with myself has allowed me to wind down, and improve my mindfulness. I know that heading into this next week will be absolutely chaotic, but at least I am able to approach it with a clear and fresh perspective. Never fear time out from life. Give yourself the break you need, for that is what leads to holistic health. S xo Recipe Ingredients for the filling

Inspired by one of the most influential nutritionists in today's social media - Jess Sepel - these stuffed dates are the perfect evening treat!
But beware! They are rich and deliciously addictive - so don't say I never warned you ;) S xo Recipe Ingredients
What is a Sunday morning without pancakes? ...Probably a Saturday morning now I think of it!
Trying out new ingredients in my cooking is something I love doing as I find it sparks my creativity, and increases my taste and knowledge of different foods from around the world. This time around I added Pink Pitaya Powder (made from dragon fruit) to my pancakes to give them this beautiful feminine touch of pink! If you are a little bored of the standard foods you are using in your cooking, leading you to feel uninspired with your creations - do a little research (or even just an instagram scroll) and find yourself some new ingredients that you can implement into your kitchen marvels! I can guarantee you won't regret it! Happy cooking, S xo Recipe (serves 2...or 1 if you have an appetite as big as mine) Ingredients
Friday is upon us, and the weekend is just one sleep away! It's freezing tonight and I am absolutely shattered - HOWEVER, I still managed to get to the gym to do a heavy legs sesh, as well as typed up this recipe for you to feast your eyeballs on!
I made this loaf a lot when I was back living with my mum because, well, she had a loaf tin - and to be honest I had completely forgotten about it until the other day when I decided to scroll through my foodie instagram page (@feeding_energy) #shamelessplug :P And I have been inspired, so I think that it is about time that I purchase myself a tin so that I can bake up this goodie this weekend! What do you think?? If you are like me, and are feeling a bit of good old baking this weekend, give this recipe a whirl and see how you enjoy it! S xo Recipe Ingredients
The week is almost over, and I'm officially 2 months out from my Europe trip! Eeeeepppp! I can't even put into words how excited I am!
On the train home this afternoon I realised that since I haven't really been living in Wollongong the last couple of weeks, I didn't have anything in the fridge to make for dinner, but a quick scroll through my photo library on my phone reminded me of this little beauty that I made a couple of weeks back and LOVED. This dish is easy, quick, healthy and tasty! Perfect for a night in with Netflix and a glass of wine...or kombucha...which ever tickles your fancy ;) Enjoy! S xo Recipe Ingredients
Sometimes, all you need is chocolate - and with this recipe, chocolate is what you get!
I'm a self-proclaimed chocoholic who is dairy free and always looking for a healthy alternative to the treats I loved when I was younger. These brownies are packed full of good whole foods that support our body's cells, but DEFINITELY do not lack flavour! I hope you are able to enjoy these just as much as I do! S xo Recipe Ingredients
Sometimes, life doesn't go exactly to plan - but that is part of the beauty of living! The last few months I have found myself a) move out of home into a new city, b) graduate from one degree and drop out from the one I had thought was the path to my future, and c) started full-time work back in Sydney (meaning I travel 4hr by public transport each day starting from 5am). For some, this may seem like an absolute shambles, and that I don't really have my life together or know what I want from life at all - however for me, from this process I have learnt that life cannot be rushed, Making decisions based on what you think you "should do" rather than what you really "want to do" can lead you down a complicated path that will most likely spit you out the other end, right at the very point you were meant to be at anyway!
Since my new schedule requires me to leave the house at a crazzzzyyyy hour of the morning, I don't have time to make and eat my breakfast each morning before eI leave - but thanks to this little creation of mine, I am still getting the best start to each day (even if I am that person who eats on the train now haha!) Eat well, and I will be back very shortly with some new recipes that are bound to make your mouth water and eyeballs pop out of your head haha! S xo Recipe (serves 1) Ingredients
